Discover Rooms in Safe House FAQsA Room of Your Own

Get a Room in Safe HouseA room in Safe House is a place for you to educate and advocate for your specific child abuse related cause. In Safe House you can create anything related to your cause that is appropriate to this site.

Here are just a few specific child abuse causes:

  • Have you launched a campaign against a particular form of child abuse? Get a room in Safe House and tell us all about it!

  • Have your actions after receiving what you believe is a legitimate disclosure of child abuse against your child caused you to lose custody? Get a room in Safe House, then share your story, give us the details about your personal experience, and keep us updated. You are probably not alone.

  • Have you found a path toward healing and recovery that could help other child abuse survivors? Perhaps you're a gifted artist or your talents lie in journalizing. This could be a chance to turn pain into power. A room in Safe House is an opportunity for you to assist others in their recovery.

  • Are you a parent who incorporates effective discipline without spanking, yelling or losing your marbles? Parents helping parents. A room in Safe House is the place to share your no-spanking and no-yelling disciplinary techniques.

  • Do you campaign for:
    • Mandatory reporting laws
    • Stiffer sentences for child abusers
    • Compensation for institutional child abuse

  • Do you campaign against:
    • Child slave labour
    • Male or female genital mutilation
    • Munchausen's Syndrome by Proxy
    • Government-sanctioned child abuse
    • Child abuse against disabled children

  • Do you want to get the message out about such issues as:
    • Internet dangers for children
    • Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder
    • Effects of violence on TV and in video games
    • Effects on children who witness spousal violence

  • Just about any another specific child abuse or recovery related cause . . . I'm sure you, my visitors, support several causes that are not listed above.

AUTHORS, PUBLISHERS AND FILM-MAKERS:  I congratulate you and wish you great success if you have written and/or published a book or produced a film that is child abuse related. Knock on Hayley's DoorHayley's Room I want to be able to help kids and adults who have suffered abuse. Hopefully, I can help them to cope with what has happened or is happening to them by detailing my own ordeal, and how I coped, felt and dealt with what was happening to me...

Knock on Ysabele's DoorYsabele's Room To ensure that fellow teachers get the right sort of training in helping identify child abuse victims. My counselling for it finished last year, and I know that healing and recovery from my own child abuse is still in its infancy. Throughout all of this, I am also happy to share my journey with others.

Knock on Elaine's DoorElaine's Room I have suffered depression and eating disorders, but have slowly rebuilt my life, finally qualifying as a Social Worker. I write both upon my professional and personal experiences. I wish to use my negative experiences positively, to help others.

Knock on Linda's DoorLinda's Room I am a survivor of violence and victimization, including incest. I have shared my story with individuals and groups. I am preparing to reach out to others with my current book (due out in June) and other opportunities that may be presented.

Knock on AJ's DoorAJ's Room My child abuse cause is geared toward Child Protection Services (CPS). My son was abused when he was five by his biological father and his father's girlfriend...CPS left my son in his father's home...until one day, when his father went too far and broke his arm.

Knock on Jennifer's DoorJennifer's Room I want to share the experiences I lived through as a child, a child who was photographed and molested and had to ask for refugee protection in Canada.

Knock on Dirk's DoorDirk's Room My main mission is to make sure laws will be changed to better protect our children from the abuse that the State of Georgia seems to think OK.

Knock on Darlene's DoorDarlene's Room (sample room only) To inform and educate people around the world about child abuse and the effects of abuse. To offer support, encouragement and validation to other child abuse survivors by providing space for them to write their child abuse stories.
