You've Just Entered Hayley's Room Welcome! Reaching out to help children and adults who suffered abuse Birmingham, West Midlands United Kingdom
Occupation: Health Care Assistant in Oncology
Gender: Female Tell us about yourself: I'm 29, a sports-mad tom boy, and love my job like crazy. This is the first place of employment since a serious road accident where I haven't been bullied, and it feels brilliant. Nickname: Screwloose Tell us about your child abuse cause: I want to be able to help kids and adults who have suffered abuse. Hopefully, I can help them to cope with what has happened or is happening to them by detailing my own ordeal, and how I coped, felt and dealt with what was happening to me, from the first incident when I was ten, right up to the retribution I suffered at the hands of my brother, and lack of support I endured from a parent who often saw what was happening. I hope that I can help people in the same way I do at work. Obviously, given my line of work, what these people are suffering is an entirely different entity to what happened to me. However, the pain these patients deal with can be equally as suffering as the pain from abuse at the hands of a parent or sibling. Other information you'd like us to know about: Due to the child abuse I endured, I have developed a mad sense of humour, but that is just me. Thankfully, my colleagues seem to accept it, as do my team mates at my two ice hockey clubs.
