You've Just Entered Ysabele 's Room Welcome! Ensuring Teachers are Trained to Identify Victims of Child AbuseWoking, Surrey United Kingdom
 Occupation: Teacher
Gender: Female Tell us about yourself: I teach primary school children (4-11) at a local school in a socially deprived area of affluent Surrey, UK. I am single and have three children. My two teenage girls live with myself and my partner of one year; my son went to live with his father a year ago. I am a PE co-ordinator and enjoy Yoga, Pilates, reading, watching films and listening to music. I am 47 and dyslexic. I was abused by my brother as a child (my memory is not good for dates, but it had stopped well before I started menstruation; I think 11). Tell us about your child abuse cause: To ensure that fellow teachers get the right sort of training in helping identify child abuse victims. My counselling for it finished last year, and I know that healing and recovery from my own child abuse is still in its infancy. Throughout all of this, I am also happy to share my journey with others. Other information you'd like us to know about: I am doing an MA in Early Years at the moment and am about to do an assignment on an article critique; I chose one on child abuse. The fact that I am doing an MA will enable me to share with others the info that I gather. Also, in doing the assignment, I will further the process of my own healing and recovery.
