A mother like yours is not well,
A mother like yours from grace she fell.
She missed so much she couldn't enjoy,
She failed to see her beautiful boy.

When she hurt you and harmed you in horrible ways,
She spoke far more deeply of her own troubled days.
For if she'd been LOVED she couldn't have done,
The horrible things she did to her son.

And now you're left with the hurt and disdain,
Of having endured all those moments of pain.
But you are not what your mother did,
You are not, nor ever will be, an awful kid.

I thank you for sharing what you endured,
I thank you for sharing what cannot be cured.
For in your sharing you can re-frame,
The terrible awfulness from which you came.

You have value and worth you might not believe,
Value and worth you did not receive.
And now it's time to love and embrace
The wonderful YOU that is full of grace.

I send you love and bright shining light,
I send you a {{{HUG}}} in love and with might.
A loving energy, a loving fire,
Knowing your poem will help to inspire.

Darlene - taking the time and love to respond to sam's poem in kind blew me away. but then again, it's so like u! thank u again 4 your website and your dedication and integrity.

sam - your poem sounds EXACTLY like my wonderful husband's childhood abuse. ur definitely not alone. I wish u the best of the best 4 the rest of your life. what a sick, depraved parent your mother chose 2b. her loss, of the relationship she could have had with a great son like u. she really shot herself in the foot in regard to u.

Sam, my mom is like yours too, so you're not the only one. Have you told anyone you could trust? Have you considered counseling?
