I am SO proud of you for telling...and you can be so proud of yourself. You got the help that both you and your little brother needed; that's so uplifting. Yes, this breaks up families, but it wasn't you who broke it up; that was the sex offender's fault. Fault is not with you. Blame is not with you. And neither is guilt. All are squarely on HIS shoulders because he chose to sexually abuse you. Your whole family is in a better place now because you chose to tell, difficult as that was at the time. I have no doubt you will turn pain into power...indeed, you already have, Sarah. You're an inspiration. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.

You not only did the right thing by getting CPS involved on your abuse issue, you no doubt saved your mother and little brother from becoming potential vitims of abuse. That took a lot of courage and conviction on your part. Good for you.

I am glad to see that you sought counselling and it's working for you. So many don't and they just can't seem to get out of the cycle of abuse and violence. They are victims almost all their lives.
You can be rest assured your story will impact someone, somewhere. You're a winner Sarah, and probably always will be.

WE ARE ALL SO PROUD
by: Anonymous

We are all so proud of you! What you did showed strength and immence love towards your mother and brother. You saved not only youself but also other people. You probably saved other children as well because I am not too sure that he wouldnt be doing this or that he didnt do this to other little girls (or boys).
You are the walking proof that abuse doesnt need to lead to victimisation, that abuse doesnt need to breed abuse. And a big well done to your mom that believed you!! Because true mothers do exactly that! They believe, support and protect their children.
Without a doubt working through all these issues is not easy. But you have excellent support. You have a therapist, your mom, and you also have all of us here in case you need to further vent or talk about it. You are not alone. But Im sure you know that already!
I am very very proud of you for doing this!
