You deserved so much better . . .
by: Darlene Barriere - Webmaster

I'm delighted that you are now safe, Jozey, and that your mother realized that Michael was not a healthy person to keep in your life. She should have divorced him long before she did. He shouldn't have been a part of your life for as long as he was. You deserved to have a loving, supportive and nurturing father in Michael. You certainly didn't deserve to be beaten and battered, either physically or verbally.

You mentioned that you have difficulties with relationships and with guys...perhaps some counselling would help you with this. You have a lot of emotional residue from the physical and verbal abuse Michael chose to inflict upon you; I really believe you would benefit from talking to someone about it.

And Jozey, I must re-emphasize the importance of NOT including your email address in comments or submissions. While submissions, like your story, only get posted after I approve them, comments go live. I cannot control who visits this site. There's no way to know if someone is a pedophile, or otherwise trying to lure a child or youth, in order to inflict harm. It is for this reason that I have such strict rules about including personal information. I want you to be able to continue to comment on others' stories and commentaries, Jozey, and I want you to be able to contribute with your own submissions. But if I have to ban someone from placing comments on this site in order to protect them, I will. I would appreciate it if you would not include your email address, or other personal information, when posting material, because I want you to be able to continue to be a valuable contributor to this site. Thank you, Jozey.

(Hands clapping) and a prayer for you!
by: thecrazytrucker

You are right. . . You are an amazing young lady. and they are right you are more mature than many twice your age.

I can tell just by your outlook on the whole situation. I hope that situation is over for you now, and wish you the best of luck in going forward.

It sounds like you are on the right track to a fine future.

I am sure you will be strength and support for many others in your lifetime.

That is probably part of God's purpose for you.

I want to thank you for commenting here and for all the people you will touch and encourage.

Please hug yourself for me and know that people see your good heart and love for the good spirit and beautiful spirit you are. The Crazy Trucker told you that.

Peace babygirl. Take care.

You Brave, Brave Girl!
by: Anonymous

You are so brave. You're very young and you've seen more than anyone should have to see and endure. Just know that you have friends now and even though you can't erase what's happened to you, you can still make the best of your life now so the past doesn't seem so bad. I have been in a situation very much like your's and I can't tell you how strengthening it is to hear your story of triumph.

I'm so sorry
by: Anonymous

It absolutely breaks my heart to read each and every story on this site, but your's really did. I grew up Assembly of God, (still am @ age 30), and my parents are A/G ministers. I am so sorry that you suffered the terrible abuse you did at the hands of that coward!

All I want to say to you is this; please don't let what happened to you determine how you feel about certain religious organizations. But, more than anything I want to encourage you to draw strength from God. He is your ever present help!

I'm praying for you!!!!

You are strong
by: Freedom

I just want you to know that you are an amazingly strong young lady. You have continued to amaze me, and when you showed me this, that you actually put your testimony out there for people to read, it made me so proud. You have the strength of a warrior, and God has made you an amazing person, with whom I am VERY pleased to say that I know personally. I love you gurl, and im here for you always. Just call me or email me, you know how. See ya tomorrow.
