Each of us copes with abuse, present and past, in different ways. No one gets through abuse unscathed in some way. You're still haunted by the fact that no one believed you, and that these abusers were allowed to continue abusing, without ever having to answer for their crimes. They were twisted in their ways of thinking, and all the children they adopted paid a dear price for that. When we feel unloved as children, we get stuck in that time. We look for that love in all place, good and bad. And we also hope beyond hope that the very people that showed no love, the people we needed it from the most, will somehow find that love and give it to us. That means we rely on someone else to bring us that love, when what we really need is to find that love within our Selves. You WERE and still ARE lovable, Beckah. That will never change. So treat your Self with the dignity and respect and love that you never received. BE the person you hoped your adoptive mother (and father) would be rather than expect that they will miraculously turn into those people. You have it in you, and you always have. I send you love, light and healing energy, Beckah. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.
