Your message is a strong one for all who come from some sort of abuse. To this comment that you wrote "Don’t give up on yourself like I did." I would say, you didn't give up on your Self at all. You had the strength to leave that brute of an excuse for a male. Maybe it took some time to get there, but you got there. Sure, you blamed your Self. Of course you would, given all that went on in your life and the fact that your mother abandoned you at your greatest times of need. It's completely understandable. What's important is that you actually DID stand up for your Self. Not initially, but eventually. You had the courage to find the help you needed. Whatever motivated you, you not only reached out, you did the work to overcome what you had endured. So from where I sit, I would change the statement to: "I didn't give up on myself, and you shouldn't either."

Crystal, you are an inspiration. I hear your cry for healing. And I hear your cry for all the others who have endured and suffered but have yet to reach out. I send you love, light and continued healing energy. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.

Everyday is still a struggle and I'm still going to therapy once a week but I refuse to be that angry woman anymore. My kids are my motivation and I wish I could help others. I wish I could be an advocate and share my story with everyone.
