It was child abuse on more than one level. There was emotional abuse, in particular terrorizing and witnessing spousal violence. I do hope you are getting some kind of help for the emotional toll the abuse has had on your life. If not, please consider seeking out some form of counselling in order to help you deal with the repercussions of what you witnessed. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.

Norma, something was seriously wrong with your dad. [I hope] you reported him to the police after your parents got divorced. Oh, and I know what it's like to destroy the very Easter that you guys were supposed to enjoy, especially when it came to the Easter eggs being sadistically destroyed everywhere in the kitchen, the butcher knife sticking out on the wall, etc. When I used to paint the Easter eggs back then, if my dad ever did that to any of my precious Easter eggs, then I would be so mad at him! Oh, and I hope that you are in a safe place now and that you will try counselling.
