A Joke for CPS
by: Anonymous

I have the same pathetic excuse of a system in USA...no one, not even CPS, believed me at all when I tried to tell them that my so-called parents tried to destroy and kill me; in fact, they just stood there, laughing in my face, mocking me, telling me that I "deserved to be punished for being bad" (just as they called it). They are supposed to help out children...and instead of taking me away from my so-called family and taking me to a safer place, they just decided to always keep my so-called family together because they are more interested in my so-called family's "rights" than mine...so that's when I lost faith in the entire human race...and with that, all I have left is this site. Please don't give up!

words from the abused
by: Anonymous

for one that has been abused i can tell through the way you stated the problem, something about you does make me wounder about the real you.
i also have lost a child to cps, do i blame others or do i look at my part and how i could have prevented any reason for cps to take my child. the world is full of lies, blamming others for things coused by actions taken, so get real your just mad at yourself for failing to be the best parent. i spent 14yrs going through mental & physical abuse spending the next 4yrs in foster, group, hospitals so if any one can know something about this, a spade is a spade and i call spade check yourself before you put your blame on others, one last note this is to any one not willing to look at what are you doing wrong to get you into this trouble if your not doing anything wrong then you have know reason to be posting anything putting blame on others, i told of the abuse i went through only to find the persons involed never recieved any time or punishment, so dont tell me about unfair

To Anonymous who wrote "words from the abused":
by: Darlene Barriere - Webmaster

I received your comment in my inbox this morning. Thank you for taking the time to write.

ALL comments written to contributors on this site are scrutinized by me before they ever go live. I alone decide whether or not they are appropriate for posting. I do not stay on my computer 24/7, nor do I approve comments for posting in the wee hours of the morning. Sometimes there is a long delay in comments going live because it's the middle of the night where I live, I'm out of town, or because I'm working on other things away from my computer. Sometimes the company that I use to host the site does not show comments live for lengthy periods. I've had situations where this time delay has been as much as 72 hours. This IS unacceptable to me, and when it happens I can only report it and hope the situation is resolved. There is nothing I can do to change the nature of host delays. So please, before you make unkind or unreasonable assumptions, please take into account that sometimes there are outside factors as to why comments don't go live in what you might consider a reasonable length of time.

And, I must also caution you...you're comment was yay close to not being approved because you bordered on being disrespectful to the person who wrote the commentary. What you had to say was important, but this site is not a democracy. I DO care about victims; I was one myself. But as webmaster and owner of this site, I must balance the rights of those who report situations of abuse, and those who have been abused, with those who might have been wrongly accused of abuse. Just for the record, I rarely post contributions of the latter. Regardless, I insist that my visitors be respectful; otherwise, they are not welcome to participate in the interactive nature of the site. Thank you for your understanding.
