Helping My Friend

by Ashley
(Texas, USA)

I volunteer at an advocacy center, so I see some children every day. I don't talk to them because I am a minor. But one of my friends gets hit by her dad all of the time. We are working on stopping that. I am going to go into law enforcement so I can help prevent child abuse.

Thank you for informing the people. You are doing a great job.

You're a great friend . . .
by: Darlene Barriere - webmaster

You didn't say in your comments, but I hope you are trying to get help for your friend, and not trying to deal with the situation she is coping with on your own. If you're not yet working with the advocacy center on this, please either talk to someone there, or contact the authorities or a reporting agency about the abuse your friend is enduring.

And good on you for wanting to make a difference, Ashley. Good on you for wanting to go into law enforcement in order to help prevent child abuse. We need more youth like you in our world today.

Good work

I can tell by some of the language you use that you are good at helping people out. "We are working on ..." for example. Get a degree in sociology also. It will come in handy one those bad nights as a cop.
