Allotments, the inthing in our modern world of afluence
by: maurice

These past few years I am seeing and hearing of allotments are the in thing for city and town folk. It is a site to behold to see almost complete families digging, sowing, watering and caring for their pride and joy. building little communities and friends as they do so. Gardening is one sure way of being out in the open, away from the four walls of one's house, hostelry, or betting offices. It is great therapy to pull weeds and get angry with oneself for letting them grow so plentiful killing the goodness all around them. I like to wander out under the sky nowand again to blow away my cobwebs, the freedom, the fresh air running through the bones is a great feeling. Even showeing after a good gardening session or cutting the grass is a freeing experience. Thank you for sharing your story with me. Darlene's comment sure it too is refreshing for you and all her visitors. There are as many varities of potatoes now as there are people.
