Thank you for sharing your post with my visitors and me. It is so very disturbing that when a problem exists to such a degree that one could argue it's epidemic, that very little is done for either prevention or to bring hope and safety to the children experiencing abuse. Abuse often at the hands of the very people in charge of their well-being. Legislators today are far more apt to espouse a position of making sure women give birth to babies than they are about the babies once they're born. And if that's not disturbing enough, this morning I posted a first-hand commentary titled Too Unbelievable that came from a woman who was a social worker in the Ohio system, a commentary that spoke of the corruption and brokenness of the system in her county. Is it any wonder that children don't speak up and tell. Not only for the reasons you pointed out, but oftentimes, for the reasons Pegi, the author of the commentary mentioned above, disclosed in her piece.

I can only hope that people like you, Sarah, and people like Pegi and others will continue to speak out so that the system changes for the benefit of the safety of children.
