Child Abuse - Children are Helpless

by Stephanie

People can be just horrible:
How could anyone just live there life day by day knowing they are harming their child. the person you gave birth to the person you are supposed to love and cherish and watch grow up and teach them everything... i just dont understand taking your anger out on a child is the most horrific thing ever.. a child a young helpless human being does not deserve to be abused in any kind of way. and for those who do so need to be punished beyond extent.

I feel your frustration. Child abuse IS a horrible thing, and the people who abuse children are extremely disturbed to commit such an act against a helpless and defenseless child. The situation is very complicated. The root causes of child abuse must be considered, and then methods must be incorporated in order to bring about prevention. There must be services in place to help parents deal with the often very challenging responsibilities of parenthood. Most parents do not realize how much it takes to be a parent until they become one, so to say for example, that they shouldn't have become a parent if they weren't prepared would be passing judgment on an issue that is much deeper. People can also be amazing. You are obviously passionate about this pervasive issue, so I hope you'll take that passion and use it toward the greater good, and thus be even more amazing than you already are. We need people like you to step up and make a difference. Perhaps that will be your calling. Thank you for sharing your perspective with my visitors and me. I send you love, light and healing energy, Stephanie.
