Though you do not identify child abuse in your past (I point this out because this is a site about child abuse), I've decided to post your story, because there is tremendous value to my visitors in the healing and recovery you've shared here. Healing and recovery that many who post here can benefit from. I thank you for sharing your inspirational story with my visitors and me, and send you love, light and continued healing energy. Keep being your Self.

Thanks for sharing this. All my life I have avoided wearing shorts and going shirtless because of something similar happened to me. Even in extreme heat I wear pants, never bare foot. Except for the beach. Im sure people wonder. I did explain one time to a family member that I dont wear shorts as they make me feel too exposed. I was told dont be so foolish. Which causes yet more anger as it was the person who allowed me to be violated in the first place. Again I thank you for sharing this particular perspective.

I have found so much comfort in your story, and not because it is a happy or pleasant one, but because I identify on so many levels. I am a female, but I have felt such similar things in my life that I feel truly connected to you. I literally confronted my father about his behaviour and comments about an hour ago! and this has been a life long struggle for me. I've been in and out of therapy for about 25 years now...and I'm only 27. I found this site and your story on a whim, and I believe it was divine intervention that brought me here. thank you for sharing...you have truly helped someone today.
