Children ARE our most important asset...
by: Darlene Barriere - Webmaster

Well put, Megan! We DO need to stop child abuse. And while abusers belong in jail for their crimes against children, the answer lies not just in intervention and dealing with the aftermath, but in prevention. We must teach children how to be effective, loving and nurturing parents. And we must provide support for parents when they find themselves overwhelmed with the responsibility of raising children. Child abuse is such a complex issue. People like you, Megan, are our future. I admire that you "won't be silent till [you] get done what [you] need to get done". There's no question in my mind that you will be a positive voice for children.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts with my visitors and me.

change..
by: touched2mysoul

I applaud what u said! Yes we have to make a difference... The problem of child abuse is complex as Darlene explained... It is the children who have been abused that grow into adults that need counseling and support.. Its the parents that need support and effective parental training... Child abuse Ihope to one day be eradicated but there is so much that needs to be done.. Child abuse does damage at so many levels..from the child who experiences it to those that see it or hear it to the next generation of children that it may be repeated on. It takes a multitude of voices to make a choir ...the diversity of the voices is what creates the harmony on the choir... We need this same approach to child abuse... Its goining to take many and much to be a united voice to change the ways of the world to stop child abuse... It starts with each of us...

Stop child abuse

You are right no child ever deserves any kind of abuse. We need to do something about it. Atleast thay can no longer be tortured but their parents should die a horrible death. We need to write to the government to write a new law about child abuse that it should no longer happen n any country or state. Long live new borns we need too something about child abuse in labor or any abuse at all.

loving a child
by: Anonymous

there are parents or single moms who think that to have a child fear them is better then having that child respect ot love them.
i have seen these children get hit and abuse and neglected and a single mom lets her boyfriend touch the 6yr old girl and the middle gets hit hard and uses the 12yr old to help him scam people and their mother gives them little food this way the boyfreinds gets what he wants to eat. the little one has to do her own wash of clothes and the 12yrs old does the mothers clothes and his and if they dont do wash they have dirty clothes to wear. i tried to report this and all the child abuse hotline tells me is that i needed to call sooner and hang up.
this is not right these are children ans should be treated with respect and love

From Darlene - Webmaster: Then report again. Child Protective Services in North America are not permitted to hang up on someone who reports abuse. They are obligated to investigate.
