To Grace:
by: Darlene - Healing Coach

As you know, an explanation is not the same as an excuse. You've developed an understanding of what happened to your brother. I can't help but think though that he may well have carried his "urges" into adulthood. It wouldn't surprise me to learn he is still abusing little girls. Yes, children who sexually abuse have themselves been sexually abused in some way. But if they don't get help early, it can mean devastating consequences for others. As for forgiving him, I applaud you for that. You see, forgiveness doesn't say that what he did to you was okay--it will never BE okay. It says that you will no longer allow what he did to you to control you. With forgiveness, you've taken back your power. But that doesn't mean you can trust him. Nor does it mean having a loving relationship with him. I would still be watchful.

Thank you for sharing your story here, Grace. Keep up the great work you're doing with your therapist. I send you continued loving healing energy.

your strength is outstanding
by: Anonymous

thank you for being so brave, and telling us your story. you didn't deserve any of that. no child does. it's taken me a long time to realize that I didn't deserve what happened to me. but there is such power in verbalizing it. you are strong!
