I am in that situation currently. I work as a contract social worker and the children I've been supervising visits with are making claims of abuse. DSS is blowing the 10 year old off and accusing her of lying. Mom is very loving and kind but a drug addict who never even hit her kids. Neglectful? Yes, but they would be better off with her than the abusive foster mother they have now. This breaks my heart. I've already made one complaint and I won't stop. I didn't become a social worker to turn a blind eye to abuse.
