I'm delighted that you've leaned on your support system in order to help you through all this. I must also say that in order for you to ensure you do not go back to this man, you must understand why it is that you feel as you do about him when he treats you with such disrespect and inconsideration. You deserve to be treated with dignity and respect; this man does anything but. For some reason you don't seem to believe that you are worthy of better. You say you love him, but I can't help but wonder what there is to love about someone who has repeatedly taken advantage of you and treated you as though weren't worthy of anything but being cheated on and used. He's basically treated you like a doormat. Perhaps you're in love with the idea of what he might be; but in truth, he's not the man you thought he was. Not any more. His drinking may well have changed all that. This goes way beyond forgiveness. Forgive him yes; but that doesn't mean taking him back when he so obviously doesn't take you into consideration. You really are worthy of so much more than what he's been giving you in your life. I really hope you see that, because you deserve better. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.
