You're an amazing sister: caring, compassionate, loving. What you did for Lucy made all the difference in her life while she was still with you. You did everything you could; and for that, you can hold your head up high. What Lucy's abuser did to her is reprehensible, no question about it. What's important now is to not allow what this abuser did to your sister victimize yet another person: You. When you hold onto the anger and hostility, you're the one who suffers. You're the one in pain. Hanging on to the anger is like taking poison and expecting Lucy's abuser to die. The best way to honour your sister's life and what she endured is to live yours to the fullest, without holding onto any more anger, without letting her abuser have power over you. And as long as you do hold onto that anger, he does have power over you. Life IS too short to live that way. Letting go of that anger would make you even more awesome than you already are, Emily. Sending you love, light and healing energy. Thank you for sharing your sister's story with my visitors and me.

From Darlene - Webmaster: Emily, and my other visitors to this thread, I've deleted at least 2 separate comments from this particular commenter here because her numerous, oftentimes multiple posts are judgmental and wholly inappropriate, and she just won't stop posting here on this site. This is all I can do to keep you informed, as I cannot block her. I thank you for your understanding. And I send the woman love, light and healing energy.

assistance from state department?
by: My Two Cents

Emily,

I'm glad you were able to get your sister back home so she could pass away peacefully, surrounded by her family.

The one thing I was wondering about, assuming that Lucy still had her native citizenship (American?) is couldn't the state department assist financially? I know that when Americans are abroad and a war breaks out, the state department helps their travelling citizens to evacuate. I had always assumed that they would help in these situations as well.

I'm just curious so if you don't know the answer or want a break from thinking about this, don't worry. I'll try and check around with google and see what happens.

Be well.

My Two Cents.
