Welcome to your "room" Hayley!

A wise person once told me, "Don't write for the sake of publishing; write for the sake of writing." I didn't understand what he was really telling me at the time, but eventually I came to realize the wisdom of the advice: Write because you are passionate about writing, and only then will the passion shine through in everything you write. Beyond that, writing can be cathartic, especially when one writes about their past.

So, Hayley, I offer you these words of wisdom: Don't limit yourself to only writing your story when you find someone who will publish it; write because writing is your passion, write for the journey it may take you on.

I look forward to reading more of your posts.

Advice
by: Hayley

Thanks Darlene. It is taking some time to get started. I wrote a bit while at the doctors on Wednesday to try and distract myself from the terrible pain in my ear. Unfortunately there comes a time when nothing works so I gave up! I will however continue to write it all down and get it in sequence as much as I can. As you say it could be somewhat cathartic, and with some luck I will hopefully understand things better. I don't want it to be all doom and gloom, it would be too difficult even to write let alone read.

Thanks again for the advice
