Linda:
by: Darlene Barriere - Webmaster

Most of us have gone through childhood scathed in some way. More so for those of us who endured child abuse. The self damaging behaviours were once coping skills, so they are very difficult to get rid of. And the harder we try to consciously get rid of them, the more they seem to dig in. I've learned that instead of trying to rid myself of those behaviours, I look at them with understanding, with the knowledge and wisdom that they helped me at one time. And then I tell those behaviours that they did their job and that it's time to part company because their job is done. Of course, I say this to myself, but I say it with love in my heart, meaning every word of it. It's been so interesting just watching them disappear, one by one. So keep loving yourself, Linda. You are so worth it. And with that thought, I send you love, light and additional healing energy. Thank you for sharing with my visitors and me.

Healing Addictions
by: Linda

Thank you for reading my story.
I am now 57 years and have been drinking and smoking as coping mechanisms since the age of 17 after incest sexual, physical and mental abuse.
Six weeks back I was tired of feeling and looking tired and decided to stop. I am still not partaking in those behaviours. I am honouring myself more as I continue my journey. I keep finding the poetry brought to me through meditation as spirit
guides me.

Ask to Receive
Bring me the joy that escapes my daily toil
Renew the zest to bring out the best
Refresh my soul that will ignite this joy right to the very core
On this day, I will begin to pray
For healing, gratitude and song
No compromise, my intent aligned
To walk in the light with Love!
