I disagree that the soul never heals. I believe the soul does heal. It's us as humans that have the challenge of healing. It's been my experience that when we change our perspective about what has happened in our lives, then everything changes. There can be great purpose in having endured some of the worst abuse, when we choose to make it purposeful. When we tell ourselves that we can't heal, then of course, we don't. But healing comes in varying levels. When you share your story with others who have come from something similar, you can help them heal, which in turn helps your own healing. When we see our abusers in a different light, a more understanding one, then that too can help our healing. But when we believe that abusers simply glean pleasure from being abusive, we cement our victimhood. Abusers have problems. Big problems. Problems that manifest themselves in sometimes horrific ways. That's not an excuse. It's simply an explanation. Cynthia, change the story you're telling yourself, and you change so much. That's the key to bringing true healing on every level into your life.

And just so you know, I had to edit some of your post in order for it to fit within my template.

I send you love, light and healing energy, Cynthia. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.

There is a way!

I have had abuse in my life. I have Ptsd it is hard but not unbeatable. I think the first step is to acknowledge that it happened to you in the past but it is not you. Start trying to live in the now...You ...are worth it you are on the track to find your happiness.
