I takes a deeply disturbed mother to say what yours would say to you and your siblings. And you are not alone. In my own past, own mother said similar things to me: told me I would never be able to hang onto a boyfriend and called me a sl*t (a disgusting word, a word applied solely to females that I would love to have removed from our language).

Emotional abuse cuts the deepest and leaves the rawest scars, so even though you didn't express your darkest memory, clearly, given your addictions and self-esteem issues, you were affected in a very dark way. And THAT'S what matters most. Not what you endured, but how the experiences adversely affected you.

Just keep in mind that what you think about yourself cannot be a reflection of what your mother thought of you, or what she said about you. If there is one takeaway here, it's that she has no credibility. So the next time you catch yourself calling yourself down in any way, go to the person who IS credible for the real goods There is nothing wrong with who you are. I can feel the wonderful goodness in you.

I send you loving healing energy.
