Mother on daughter sexual abuse is still not adequately recognized in today's society. Mothers with such twisted urges operate under cover of caregiving and nurturing. In your case, also under cover of migraines. The fact that she would have someone, another woman, complicit is deeply disturbing. Two types of evil present here: One was the vile acts of your mother; the other was someone who felt an obligation and devotion to such evil that she would turn a blind eye to the harm being done to an innocent child who could not speak out on her behalf.

Whether or not you would have been believed is...well...in truth, most children are not believed. Today or yester-year. It's so difficult to say whether or not you would have had that added victimization of betrayal and rejection and abandonment had you disclosed and not been believed.

Your truth at this moment in time has a strong healing element to it, which is why I put it in this category. I thank you for sharing it with us here.

You'll note I changed the title. This is because this title has already been used on this site. And since titles make up part of the URL when the story is created, they cannot be duplicated without adding a new number to it.

As always, I send you continued loving healing energy, Stephanie.

Thank you for your kind and supportive words, Darlene.

With each supportive person we encounter there will be less power in the trauma we have experienced.
