To be betrayed by your own parents, then by a system that was supposedly created to protect you from abusive parents is the ultimate spirit crusher. And then, to be betrayed by someone the family trusted, that just adds to the crushing.

But what you endured doesn't have to keep crushing you. You can rise up, more powerfully that before by bringing purpose to what you endured. By helping others, and thereby helping yourself to heal.

What happened to you is not who you are at your core. Who You Really Are goes so much deeper.

As a child, you had little or no power. As an adult, you can take back that power. Indeed, you must take back that power in order for healing to take hold.

What you tell yourself is so important. If you tell yourself all the negative messages you received as a child, then you abuse yourself in much the same way you were abused as a child. But if you stand up for yourself, and tell yourself the opposite of the negative stuff, that's when things begin to change. And you deserve that change. Treat yourself better than anyone ever has, Georgia. Give yourself the self-love, the respect and the dignity you deserve. Make choices for yourself that are healthy and true to Who You Really Are. When you do so, the abusers no longer have power over you. And when they no longer have that power, you are no longer inextricably connected to them. That connection is severed forever. But you must first make that choice.

Georgia, thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me. I send you love, light and healing energy.
