Child Abuse - When Sexual Abuse Disclosures are Ignored

by Name Undisclosed
(Ohio, USA)

Secret:
When I was 5 years old my uncle David sexually abused me. I told right away. No one did anything! He went on to sexually abuse a few other of the girls in our family who also told! No one did anything. When I was 14 we were at a family event and he tried to hug me. When I said no way he got mad and told me it was a long time ago I should let it go! What, I said. Then I told him to get the hell away from. He was there with his girlfriend and her children. Later we found out he was raping both the girl and boy and now he is spending the next 25 years in prison. My thoughts...if someone would have stopped him with me, all the other victims would not have endured his sick pedophilia ways!
