First of all, congratulations on staying clean of drugs for years. Secondly, "forgetting" can't be the goal, because barring a major head injury or other form of trauma or some type of dementia, forgetting his highly unlikely. Moving forward in your life is about living in the Present moment, appreciating what you have in your life Now, and living your life from your Heart. The body doesn't know the difference between re-living a memory and actually living it for the first time. This means that the body's health is most definitely affected by the mind. Consider the work of Byron Katie in order to put what happened to you and your personal truth into perspective. Recognize that you are not what happened to you. Who You Really Are has nothing to do with what happened to you in your childhood. Choose to turn pain into power by helping others who have experience something similar to what you have. Doing so can help you along your own path of healing and recovery. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.
