You've done a lot of work to ensure those terrible messages of rejection were not forever internalized or repeated with your own family. You broke the cycle of abuse. I commend and applaud your decision. And it IS a decision; a decision that your mother did not make. She is deeply troubled, and living in a state of denial over who the real problem was, and is, doesn't change that fact. When she's ready to help her Self, only then will change occur in her life. You were born with purpose. You've chosen to heal from what you endured in order to ensure your sons had a better life than you did. That's turning pain into power, Colleen. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me. You are an inspiration.

Hi Colleen,
First of all look at the desire to live!.You have had no example of any kind here.I hope you realize the strength you have. It's a real shame that the adults we are supposed to look up to are
in a worse mess than a child is.Children are known for their vulnerability, but with adults people don't realize is, that children are under estimated for what they can see.Adults don't think children know what they see.Your children
are going to be just fine because you know the difference. However if you need some help please don't hesitate to simply ask. Councellors are there for you too.You have raised yourself and and by what you are doing your children love you because they know you love and care for them no matter what. They feel your strength.Keep the good work up.
