As long as you're still in that environment, your stepdad poses a risk to you. And the fact that your mother is still with him shows that she's an enabler. She's already proven that she won't protect you by not protecting you and by staying with him. Forgiveness is important for your own freedom—I truly believe that and speak on it frequenly—but when you are still in danger then what's most important is to get to safety. And always remember that forgiveness does not mean you must have a relationship with someone. Forgiveness means that you will no longer be a hostage or prisoner to anger and hostility. As for your grandmother's boyfriend, I can only hope he's no longer in her life. If he is, all children are at risk. In fact, your stepsister's are at risk for sexual abuse at the hands of their sick and twisted father. For your sake and theirs, I hope you don't keep what he did to you a secret. Your mother wouldn't do what needed to be done. Perhaps you can find a way to be the one to do what needs to be done. You're the one with her head screwed on right. I send you love, light and healing energy, Tara. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.
