Your act of courage was so very noble. It was also a symbolic stepping in to stop your father. I recognized it all so clearly. It's what I used to do. In that moment, all the anger and hostility, all the injustice and unfairness reached a feverish pitch for you. This was an episode you could step in to stop. This was an opportunity to make up for all the times you couldn't stop your father, even though it's not what was on your mind at the time. You've developed such a strong sense of right and wrong as a result of what you were forced to endure. What's important now is to understand that living your life with those constant anger issues will not serve you well. The never-ending anger will bring about much dysfunction. Find a safe and beneficial way to release all the anger. Perhaps you're interested in running or playing a sport. Again, the release must be a safe way for you and others. You're such a good person, Stephen, with such a strong sense of the emotional consequences of abuse. Perhaps helping others deal with their anger and their emotional stuff will help you too. I send you love, light and healing energy. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.
