As you probably already know, drugs and alcohol only serve to bury the pain, not deal with it. And the more you try to bury it, the more it will do what it can to surface. And that pain will affect every aspect of your life. But when you allow the pain to surface and then allow yourself to feel it, really feel it in a safe environment, the pain will let you go. Happiness does not come from external situations or people or things. Happiness comes from inside of YOU. But you must choose to live your life in a way that aligns yourself with your Inner Being. Your Inner Being is Who You Really Are, which is happiness, love and joy. When you find yourself feeling negative feelings or emotions, allow yourself to feel it, then find the best-feeling thought you can muster in the moment, then another and another and another. This is the key to finding the happiness you're looking for. I send you love, light and healing energy, Shay. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.

Your family had some serious dysfunction and sexual abuse lurking everywhere. You did not deserve any of it.

You must know that food, alcohol and drugs simply pacify the pain. We actually have to deal with what hurt us someday. You're young, you have so much time to heal! You can do this!!

You're family doesn't have the power anymore, you do.
