Your parents have much to answer for...
by: Darlene Barriere - Webmaster

Steve, it most certainly does seem very strange that your parents would not know these terrible things were happening to their precious little boy. How could they NOT know their toddler was drinking? This could not possibly escape them. How could they NOT know their little boy was being forced into sexual encounters? There must have been evidence. How could they NOT know all this was going on? If they DIDN'T know, then WHY didn't they know? And if they DID know, why did they choose not to protect you? These are the questions are you asking. Steve. But regardless of the answers, your parents neglected you. Many of your basic needs were never met. Your mother and your father failed to keep you safe from harm. And their failures set you up for sexual abuse at the hands of predators. Your parents have much to answer for. Whether or not you'll ever get your answers remains to be seen.

What matters most now is what you do with the residual of all that happened to you. And the best way I know to do that is to seek out some form of counselling. If you are dealing with addictions, a 12-Step Program is a very good place to start.

Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.
