Worrying about what others think or perceive will only lead you further into the depths of despair. People don't understand that severe emotional trauma is more often than not more devastating and debilitating than just about any kind of physical trauma. I do hope you are in counseling in order to help you with what you lived through. You certainly deserve that kind of help. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me, Scott, and keep breathing.

I'm so happy you're in treatment, I know it doesn't erase what happened or how it makes you feel, I just wish some way for you to know how to deal with the pain when it arises - hopefully treatment can help in that respect.

It was very brave of you to put your story up - you & your brother did not deserve the abuse & threats from the babysitter, the anger & physical abuse from your father...or the emotional neglect from your mother. You both deserved better.
