Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this matter with my visitors and me. Based on what I wrote above, you might be wondering why I approved the post in the first place. I did so because I want visitors to understand the difference—the true difference—between normal childhood exploration and children who molest.

excellent point.
by: Scott 1

Yes Darlene, an excellent point regarding my mention of something I "read on the net." Thank you. Using it only as a point of reference without knowing the full facts and I have no way of proving or disproving anything I have read perhaps is only as good as gossip, and a poor attempt at making a point. It was in no way meant to discredit or minimize those of us who have been abused.
I agree that putting up such a post is a sure invite to those who want to share their experiences. I however wanted to point out, and not discredit anyone who has suffered serious abuse, that there are kids who do such things and there is no malicious intent.
Just pointing out that it wasn't caused by sexualized commercials and movies because we had none back then.Perhaps just curiosity.

***I had not done my research(the pages you referred me to) before writing this post..I have since though, and wish I had written it differently. I didnt understand the complexity of the issue. especially regarding ages. Sorry about that.

Darlene, if I mess up the point I'm trying to make than just delete, Or edit away until its suitable. If you delete my part 4 than that's ok. My apologies. not intended to be inappropriate.

From Darlene: There are merits to your post, Scott, so I will leave it as it is. I wanted other visitors to be clear about my expectations when it came to posting their comments, especially in light of some comments that have cropped up elsewhere on the site on this issue. But I certainly appreciate your understanding. And I'm really glad you've had an opportunity to check out the page I referred you to :) You couldn't be more right when you say it's a complex issue.

article to share...for Darlene only
by: Scott 1 Canada

Hi Darlene. I know that a person can put up a picture on here but I was wondering if I could share an old article. Can I send it to you and let you decide where to put it or if it belongs at all? Anyway, how do I send it to you?

Thanks

From Darlene: Scott, you can send it via the submission form on my child abuse articles page but I should also say that I cannot post articles that are written by someone else or that were printed/posted elsewhere. If you wrote the article a long time ago, then I could make an exception. Depending on what the article is about, I would likely either post it as an article or post it as Part 5 on this merged page. I should also let you know that I post contributions in the order I receive them, and right now, I have in excess of 60 submissions in queue with less time than ever for posting live on my site, which also means less time for replying and offering comments.

research study, why women abuse....
by: My Two Cents

Hi, Scott1;

In your comment to my post, "a new catergory of child pronography" you mentioned wanting to know why the teacher did this to you. I gave you my thoughts in a comment replying to your comment in that post.

I have since found two things that you may be interested in. On a different forum, a trainee clinical psychologist in the UK has posted several times in the "research & studies" subforum.

"Have you been sexually abused by a woman?"

Hannah Sappeal, trainee clinical psychologist in the UK looking to find people who are over 18 years old to take part in my thesis. My study explores survivors of female perpetrated sexual abuse and their experiences of disclosure.

I hope that's enough info to pull it up with a google search.

The other thing I found that was helpful is an Austrialian, Donna Williams, who is a survivor of mother-daughter sexual abuse. She's an autism consultant/researcher and has written articles about the sexual abuse she experienced and has posted some of her writing in an online blog. I thought she really had some good insights. There were things that I have *thought* but just couldn't put into words until after I read her writing.

I really don't know if you will ever have a definitive answer for why you were mistreated. I hope the info above allows you some understanding of why you experienced what you did.

Be well.

My Two Cents.

Hi, Scott1,

thought of you when I saw this. There's a survivor's site for males. Google, "male survivor, the ms discussion board" and it will pull up the site. The site has a research forum which has some studies and surveys being done to try and get politicans to take action.

You seem to be pushing for political action on this issue so that might be a place to start. It's mainly American, but baby steps. I'm thinking it might be possible for you to do something with them and it could grow to involve Canada.

Be Well
