The more you judge yourself the more you'll find yourself questioning your value. You are not the image of what you see yourself. You are not the lies you were told about yourself, both directly and indirectly. As children, we are controlled by the people who are in charge of protecting us. Sometimes, those very people are the ones doing the harm. Whether they do it out of spite, anger or a misguided sense of love, as adults we get to choose how we will conduct our lives. But if we continue to allow ourselves to be victims of the past, then moving forward will always be a struggle. You had no meaningful choices as a child. You certainly do now. You cannot control how your mother or stepdad or anyone else conducts themselves. What you can control is how you respond. That's ALL you control. Choose a way to turn the pain you endured into power. Maybe by using what happened to you as a starting point to help others. In that way, you can help yourself. I send you love, light and healing energy. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.
