You too need support...
by: Darlene Barriere - Webmaster

Sarah, first off, the only thing you can do for your girlfriend is to be a support for her when she needs you to be. So you are doing exactly what you should be.

As for your father, his brain has been altered by the alcohol. You are no longer dealing with the man who was (is) your father, but rather, the booze itself. But only he can get help for himself. Only YOU can get help for YOURSELF. Just understand that none of what is happening is your fault, Sarah. Even though the alcoholism is a disease, it is still HIS disease to manage. I strongly urge you to contact ChildLine on 0800 1111. Check out their website at www.donthideit.com for more information of what to expect when you do call. You don't deserve to be emotionally abused or in any way mistreated. You deserve love and nurturing and dignity and respect. Please call ChildLine.

Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me, Sarah. I wish you and your girlfriend all the best.

A true friend is a gift, a jewel in the crown, someone very SPECIAL
by: Maurice

Sarah C as I journey through the heartfelt stories of genuine sincere children/teenagers/adolecents who have been cruelly abused in one form or another. I came across yours. Just be yourself with your special friend too. Walk with her, talk with her, build up her self worth/confidence/self esteem just by being Your true self with her. I know the value of a true friend in my life. I have circles of friends, aquaintances but only four genuine and true friends in my inner circle and in my heart. They have stood by me true and true as I have them. we've related all to each other and LOVE each other powerfully. Their friendship has given me a great believe in Faith, Humanity, God. So Sarah C you are precious to your friend. Help her to seek help and advice. Darlene's words of LOVE are powerfull for both of you. She does know how to share with the abused and emphatisies with them in her very gentle way. Listen to her.
