Most, if not all, abusive families cover it up. They do so because they know it's wrong and don't want to get in trouble or they don't want others to think poorly of them or judge them. It's even worse when others who know cover it up because they don't want to "rock the boat" or "get involved". Children suffer every day as a result of this mindset, this mentality. The cover up allowed the abuse to continue in your home. All those who covered it up were enablers in one way or another. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.

Your mother is out of control

Sara, your mother is wrong. You are not a loser; you are a winner. You are not a slut; you are not a bitch; you are an angel. Your mother has problems and she needs help, so the sooner you tell someone you trust (other than your grandma), the better.
