Women—mother's—are indeed capable of sexually molesting their children. Much as society hates to wrap their collective brains around it, this type of abuse exists. But only when people like you speak out and disclose what happened will society begin to see things as they really are. Telling IS critical to getting the help one needs and getting the message out, regardless of who the abuser is. I'm delighted you found someone you trusted, someone who believed you; she was a very special person. That was paramount to your physical, sexual and emotional growth. Thank you for sharing your story and your very important message with my visitors and me.

evil actions...
by: My Two Cents

I saw the description where you wrote the person who abused you was not evil or gross.

Your mom may have had her good side, but her CHOICE to sexually abuse you was an evil decision and an evil action.

I am really glad that someone close to you spoke to you about what might be happening and did something about it. You never should have had to endure this abuse at the hands of your mom and I am glad she was punished for it. I am also glad that the social work field has you in it. I hope your personal experience helps you to "see" what might be going on in some kids lives.

Be well.

I don't know if you check back to read these comments, but in case you do, Samantha, I found a resource you may like.

"Who will love me - four stories of mother-daughter sexual abuse" a documentary by Dr Christine Hatchard.

Just so you know you are not alone and that this has happened to other girls/women.

Be well.
