It is DEEPLY disturbing that a social worker (or anyone, for that matter) would think, let alone actually say, that a mother using a knife on her child in order to promote concentration is appropriate. Nothing could be further from the truth. I can certainly understand the hatred you feel right now; I felt that myself towards my abusive mother when I was your age. It took therapy and a lot of reading for me to get past that hatred so that I could move on with my own life. You do not deserve to be mistreated in any way. You deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. And you need help dealing with the physical abuse you endured before, as well as the emotional abuse that continues even now. Please contact one of the hotlines listed on my stories page, depending on where you live, in order to talk to someone confidentially. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.

social worker???????

I echo Darlene's comment about the social worker.....where did that person get their training that they think cutting a child with a knife is ok??????

I applaud your courage in continuing to speak out about this and I hope you have been able to get help. You are a precious gift from god and you deserve to be treat like one - fed, clothed, loved, kept safe, and respected. I really hope that social worker is no longer employed in the child welfare field.

Be well.

My two cents.
