I for one am glad you're still alive...
by: Darlene Barriere - Webmaster

You said that you wished you hadn't listened to him when he told you not to scream. Don't make the mistake of applying adult or mature values on what you did or didn't do as a 5-year-old little girl. You did what you had to do in order to cope and stay as safe as possible under the circumstances. None of what happened was your fault, absolutely none of it. Blame lies squarely with the offender.

Please consider some form of counselling in order to help you further cope with the emotions that are triggering in you. You have too much to offer to want to end your life. If you are still a minor, I urge you to contact Child Help at 1-800-4-A-CHILD (1-800-422-4453) in order to talk to someone about happened to you and how you are feeling about it now. They are staffed 24/7 with professionally trained counsellors who will listen to you. They are not a reporting agency, although they can help you through the process of reporting if you decide to disclose the abuse. Even though the abuse is historical, it may still be possible to report it.

Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me, Ms. N. And now that you have, do take the next step: get help for yourself.
