I learned a long time ago that there was never a good reason for the terrible things that happened to us. I learned, though, that I could see things in such a way as to give purpose to what happened to me. If you hadn't been abused by your grandfather or had forgotten about the abuse (that does happen to some) you would not have protected your child from the pedophile, and therefore, your child would have been at risk. If you hadn't endured what you endured you may not have chosen the career you did in order to help all the children you now help. So you see, Michelle, it's all about perspective. The fact that you lived through these horrible things caused you to make choices in your life that would help other people, help children to be and stay safe. Now it's time for your healing to begin. Distancing your Self from the toxicity of your birth family not only protects your child, it protects you further. And that's a very good thing. Going to counselling again may be very helpful if you have a paradigm shift, if you begin to look at things differently. Open your Self to the process again. You might be amazed at how much clarity can come your way. I send you love, light and healing energy, Michelle. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.
