It wasn't about hating you as much as it was all about the anger and hostility that all these sick and twisted family members are hanging onto. When mothers and grandmothers treat their children and grandchildren with such utter disregard, they themselves are the ones that are deeply troubled. Trouble is, they take their anger and hostility out on the helpless child. You were that child, Leslie. That doesn't mean you weren't worthy of dignity and respect and love. You most definitely WERE, and still are, worthy of all of that. As for "making mistakes" with your own children, help your own children to overcome what you may have put them through. In this way, you can help them to break the cycle of abuse. Make that your legacy, Leslie. And please seek out some form of counselling or therapy in order to deal with the effects of the abuses and the betrayals. Remember this: you are only lost if you believe you are. I send you love, light and positive energy. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.
