Allow me to ease your concerns...
by: Darlene Barriere - Webmaster

Leanne, I believe seeing a counsellor is a very healthy thing to do. Congratulations on coming to that conclusion! Try not to worry about unlocking memories; it has been my experience that repressed memories "unlock" only when the person is truly ready to have them released. Besides, memories are just that: memories. And memories are basically thoughts; what happened to you as a child is no longer physically happening to you. You are safe now, even with total recall. With the help of the right counsellor, reliving CAN be relieving. Give yourself the credit you are due, Leanne, because you are much stronger than you think you are. You've taken a first major step by posting your story here—I thank you for that—. Please don't stop there. You're certainly worth the help a professional can provide.

No need to be scared anymore
by: Rebecca P

Dear Leanne, do not be afraid of remembering and unlocking memories. The things that happened to you are effecting you, even the things you have not unlocked yet. It is hard work, and at times you may wish you did not go there but the feeling of knowing and no longer wondering brings amazing relief. If you choose to go and see someone which I highly recommend you will find great satifaction and will learn to accept your memories. As Darlene said your mind has this amazing ability to only allow you to unlock and remember as you can deal with it. I wish you all the best in you journey of healing. Take Care
