You are an inspiration...
by: Darlene Barriere - Webmaster

Your story will help others see that "moving on" is possible, Laura. Thank you for sharing it with my visitors and me. And may you continue to move forward in your life, as a teacher, as a woman, as a survivor.

One more thing, Laura...due to privacy and liability issues, I no longer allow personal photos in contributions, which is why you don't see yours here. The same goes for full names. I thank you for your understanding.

So Young, So Smart

Good for you, Laura. You were a very mature six year old. You knew what your Pawpaw was doing was wrong, and I am so happy you didn't let it ruin your life. Most adults don't believe children when they tell them they're being abused. Because they are scared of the truth and the consequences. You are an inspiration to us all.
