I can only give some numbers to call...
by: Darlene Barriere - Webmaster

Laura, you ARE lovable. You ARE worthy of dignity and respect. Whatever is happening with your parents, it's not your fault. Always remember that.

I can't promise that there is a way to have your parents straightened out. But I can point you toward two organizations that provide counselling services for children and youth who are in the situation you are in.

If you are in the United States, please contact Child Help at 1-800-4-A-CHILD (1-800-422-4453) in order to talk to someone about what you are dealing with at home. They are staffed 24/7 with professionally trained counsellors who will listen to you. They are not a reporting agency. If you are in the United Kingdom, ChildLine on 0800 1111 is the number to call. Check out their website at www.donthideit.com .

Again, always remember that you ARE lovable and worthy, Laura. You really are. And I can also tell that you are caring and loving yourself; I can tell because you are showing such tremendous concern for your parents, in spite of being mistreated by them. Call one of the two numbers above. They are in a much better position to help you than I am or anyone who visits my site is.

Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.

I'm sorry to hear that your family thinks those things of you,But...BUT ...here is the thing , and there ain't no getting around these things!...are you ready??.....You know that you are a good person ,..right?.....YOU KNOW that you are worthy of love,so here is what I tell myself ,and maybe it will work for you. You are worth it!...You are you, and that's a great thing to be!!.....You are worthy of love...you are!! Tell yourself...Look at all of the good things that I have done. You have to build YOU up!...I myself ,through my own experiences, have learned that I have to believe in myself even when no one else will. I had to tell myself that I was good and that I was worth it. This thought process has saved my life. Thinking this way has allowed me to tell my own story on here. You have to tell yourself that you are worth it.You have to...even when no one else will.My own father tried to make me crazy....but I eventually convinced myself that he was wrong.I figured it out all by myself that he was....mentally ill.I am ok....I am worthy of love ,..and so are you. Please ..PLEASE..take care of you,..for you. P.S., .....YOU AINT ALONE KIDDO.

I'm special, I must believe that about me.
by: Maurice

Laura H you are very special, you are very unique may not sink in right now in the way you are being treated by your unloving and uncaring parents especially your mother. Parents do their children such injustice when they make their children feel worthless. That child then is confused when their friends say you're special and you don't deserve to be put down in any form of self worth. Laura H sadly many children went through what you're going through if that is any consolation for you to hear. Know Laura H I am not making comparisons when I say that because each child is an individual in their own right and feel this putting down by their parents their way. You are presently, please Laura H just think of the caring loving words of Darlene she has given you to ponder on. I had to build up my self worth, self confidence to make myself the beautiful loving person I am. I struggled with it for years but now I know how important it was for me. Laura H build slowly a beautiful mirror image of yourself by saying positive things to yourself each time you use the mirror. I am unique, there is only one me and I am special. Hi just don't say it. Believe it. Always believe in yourself. Your friends know you are and love you so.
