BOTH of you showed disrespect
by: Darlene Barriere - Webmaster

What your mother did to you, getting into a physical altercation with you, screaming at you, using her key to inflict a wound; all of it was wrong, Katie. She should never have treated you that way. That was definitely abuse, and it needs to stop. You need to find some help for yourself. You need to tell someone who can help you get out of this abusive environment.

But I would be remiss if I didn't point out that you too were completely disrespectful. Telling your mother to eff off and go to hell is never going to help the situation. Indeed, it will inflame the situation. As a young woman, you owe it to yourself to treat others, including your mother, with a measure of respect. Yes, respect is earned, but it would show your maturity if you showed respect by ceasing to use language so unbecoming of an intelligent young woman.

I urge you to contact Child Help in order to speak to a counsellor, Katie. Child Help is staffed 24/7 with professionally trained counsellors who will talk to you. They are not a reporting agency, although they can help you through the process of reporting if you decide to disclose the abuse, which you should. Contact Child Help at 1-800-4-A-CHILD (1-800-422-4453).

So twisted...
by: Francine

Katie, you never deserved a mother who would treat you with such anger, sadism, and hostility! You had deserved to have a loving mother who would always love you, care for you, and protect you from harm! Well, my parents argue with me, yell at me, and they hit me, too, but they haven't done more than that (thank God for that!)! And I have to agree with you, sweetie, cuz your mom sure is a twisted woman. If you are still with your sadistic mother, then either tell someone at school or call the police on her right away! Don't worry about what she will think; be safe! I am so sorry about what happened to you! You might also want to try some counselling. I really feel you and your pain, Katie. I wish you told someone (even the police!) on your mother if that happens again. Take care, dear!

it's sad that child abuse happens every day at anytime, by people who are suppose to love you not hurt you.

Seriously, get out of that house!
by: Anonymous

Please try to get out of that house as soon as you can, KatieLynne; you've suffered enough. Your mother is mentally ill. TELL, TELL, TELL!!! Next time she lays a hand on you ever again, please consider reporting her to the police ASAP. Anyway, as soon as you get away from her, your healing can start in earnest.
