You're absolutely right to put the blame squarely on the shoulders of the rapist. That's where it belongs. He knew what he was doing was wrong. But he did it anyway. And he hurt you in the process. There is every chance that what he did to you was done to him. That doesn't excuse what he did. Some would say that having had it done to him should prevent him from doing it to others because he knew what it felt like. If there is one thing I've learned along my own healing path, I would say that understanding can have a huge impact on my ability to be released of the negative energy associated with whatever is troubling me. It's what you do now with your life that's important. It's making sure that you are no longer controlled by what this person did to you. And as long as one carries the anger and hostility that accompanies the act, then the longer one is still connected to the one who did the act in the first place. You deserve so much more than that. You deserve freedom from the prison that being tied to your rapist has had you locked into. I send you love, light and healing energy, Jocelynn.
