Gillian, a brave young teenager for sharing your story with Darlene. Her brief few words in her comment to you are truly from her heart to you. Please love and respect yourself, you truly are a remarkable teenager. You've come through alot in your short life. Your Mother was just out of it, She needs loads of help. This does not condone hitting her children and treating them harshly, abusing them. It was hard on you being the biggest and oldest but a loving carer and protector of them. their substitute mother. You are the best. You are in a safe place now, may it always be so for you, You are now old enough to protect yourself. Love and respect yourself and your body. Hvae your friends who will watch out for you and each other. A true friend is a gold nugget in one's life. please have one/two outside the normal boy/girl relationship. Please build up your own self worth, self esteem, look in the mirror and have a positive mirror image of yourself. I am beautiful, I'm Special, I love me, I like every part of me. Say nice things about yourslf to yourself, Hi, it ain't silly miss jillian. Think positive, act positive, and be positive, I'll begin today, I can, I will, I must. Be active and alive, have a healthy mind in a healthy body. Become part of sporting clubs, cultural clubs and whatever you young people have to be part of where you live. Value each other, respect each other care for each other. There is safety in numbers Jillian. I sincerely hope your brother and sister are safe. It is such a shame you can't be close to each other. If you can share your story with a school counsellor or therapist please do it will be a great help to you.
