So glad you're now safe . . .
by: Darlene Barriere - webmaster

Jessica, what this evil man did to you was heinous. I hope the police were able to lay charges on him and that he spends the rest of his life in prison. He doesn't deserve to be free while you're left to deal with all the emotional trauma of his sexual assaults.

As for your mother, she should have known he would do to you what he did to her. The fact that she denied it all her life was no excuse. She owed it to you, her precious daughter, to protect you and keep you safe. Her judgment was—is—obviously unsound.

Now that you're with your father, I hope he'll keep you safe. I also hope you are in some form of counselling to deal with the emotional residue of what happened to you. You're worth it, Jessica.

And I hope you either do well or did well on your honors speech assignment, and that there was information on my site that you found helpful. Thank you for sharing your story.

She should know better

To put you & your brother in the care of someone that had done those things to her was unthinkable. What did she expect to happen? Why do parents turn their own children over to their own abusers??? Her drinking & going out to have fun was so much more important than her childs safety. Those are things you do before you have children. My heart goes out to you! God bless.
